FRANCIS PORTELA

Francis Portela (@francisportelaart) is a comic book artist from Badalona who began his career in the late 1990s, publishing in magazines such as Amaníaco. He has worked for DC, Marvel, Valiant Entertainment, and Dark Horse, contributing to some of their most iconic series.

Throughout his career, he has drawn well-known characters such as Batman, Green Lantern, Constantine, Justice League Dark, Animal Man, Black Panther, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Halo, and M.O.D.O.K., as well as series from the Valiant Universe including Faith, Generation Zero, Quantum and Woody, Ivar, Timewalker, Divinity, and Ninjak-Shadowman: Rapture.

He has also contributed to creator-owned projects and collective works, including Barcelona TM, BCN Noire, Dead Inside, Diferente, and Tales from the End of the World. His versatility as an artist, inker, and illustrator has made him one of the Catalan professionals with the strongest international careers in contemporary comics.
