Valencian cartoonist and illustrator of refined stroke recognized internationally, he was one of the most important cartoonists of the so-called New Valencian School of Comics and one of the leading artists identified with the resurgence of the aesthetics of the clear line in the eighties, which developed outstanding works like Opium, Roco Vargas or the eighth day for magazines like Cairo or Cimoc.

In the 1975 Gijón Festival, Daniel Torres was recognized with the second prize to the novel author; first place went to Luis Martorell.
