ÀUREA MUÑOZ
Àurea Muñoz (@palabrasdevainilla) is a writer, teacher and specialist in literary proofreading and translation. Together with illustrator Judit Crehuet, she is the author of Respira (Planeta Cómic, 2026), a graphic novel that explores anxiety and mental health through the story of Lis, a young woman who, unable to keep up with the pace of her surroundings, begins to suffer anxiety attacks.
The project was born from a friendship spanning more than a decade and a shared desire to tell intimate, human stories. In Respira, Àurea transforms her reflections on anxiety, introversion and social pressure into a story that seeks to shed light on a reality that is often difficult to explain.
The sea becomes a central metaphor throughout the story, while the page composition, sound effects and use of colour change according to the protagonist’s emotional state. The result is an intimate and poetic work about vulnerability, social pressure and the need to learn to live with what we experience.
She will be signing on Saturday, October 10 at 11:30 am
