Arkaitz González

Arkaitz González (@arkaizart) began exploring the world of comics through fanzines in his hometown of Irún, before moving to Barcelona in 2012, where he studied at Escola Joso and continued developing his passion for drawing through various webcomics and fanzines.

In 2020, he made his professional debut with El metall del desert (Panini), a science-fiction and fantasy comic. In 2025, he published ¡Astrid! (Fandogamia), a story featuring Astrid, her brother Marco and their mothers, Eva and Bárbara, which approaches the everyday situations of this family with humour and sensitivity. With ¡Astrid!, Arkaitz received the Best Children’s Comic Award at Cómic Barcelona 2026, establishing himself as one of the young voices to watch in children’s and young adult comics.
